Bed Bugs and Your Furniture

Image
Many people don't know that bed bugs can reside in household furniture other than mattresses. These pests lurch deep within the material and can go undetected for months. Bed bugs tend to come out at night and feast on people while they sleep. Bed bugs don't specifically all come out at night. While cleaning you may encounter these bugs crawling about. If you're unsure if it's a bed bug, collect the specimen and look online to see if it matches descriptions. This sample can be used as evidence that your landlord needs to fumigate your apartment. We don't all sleep on couches or armchairs so bed bugs aren't as likely to bother us in these locations. However, they may crawl and bite you while you're watching tv or doing other activities. Your furniture will need proper pest fumigation to get rid of these pests. Since bed bugs are stealthy it's important that you look for signs of them in your living space. Furniture is a big investment for our homes. To protect this investment you need to clean your furniture upholstery once a year. You can't go with just any company thought. There is a variety of furniture cleaning companies available and choosing the right one may seem like a daunting task. Thankfully there are key features to look for in a furniture cleaning company. Don't just go with the cheapest price for furniture cleaning. Companies with low prices tend to skip on the cleaning details. They also use poor cleaning solutions that may cause damages to furniture. Often they use inferior furniture cleaning equipment that lacks important features. Ask the cleaning company what type of machines they use. Professional furniture cleaning equipment should use only top grade machinery. Enzyme Treatment and Your Furniture

Image
Your furniture needs professional upholstery cleaning once a year. Most furniture has basic cleaning requirements but others may require enzyme treatment. Enzyme treatment for furniture cleaning is a pretreatment that contains enzymes and other agents to break down organic proteins. Enzyme treatment is used for organic stains such as sweat, food, urine, poop, blood and body dander. This pretreatment is sprayed on furniture before cleaning. After a minimum of 30 minutes, regular steam cleaning is used on the furniture. The pretreatment helps breakdown organic materials so that they are easier to remove. This provides better cleaning results than with just regular cleaning. Enzyme treatment is eco-friendly and is safe for pets, plants, kids and you. Since enzyme treatment is eco-friendly it makes sense to follow it with eco-friendly steam cleaning for your furniture. This way you can use your furniture in comfort without breathing in harsh chemicals. Furniture steam cleaning...

Loveseat Evolution

Overtime this two-seater couch was marketed as the "loveseat" and marketed for couples. However, friends and family use it as functional furniture in any modern household. Loveseats have become part of any full living room ensemble. They go with sectional couches as well as regular couches and the living room table. Many couples use them for bonding and doing activities together. This furniture come...

The History of Chenille Furniture Fabric

We've come across chenille fabric on furniture. The name "Chenille" means caterpillar in French and the  fabric reflects that with its soft texture and alternating deep and protruding lines. It feels great to the touch and for that reason it is popular for furniture items.   Chenille fabric was originated in France in the 18th century. This fabric was then introduced to Scotland by Alexander Buchanan in early 19th century. Originally this fabric was made from yarn but it went on to be made from acrylic, rayon, cotton and olefin. The manufacturing process for chenille fabric is done by placing short lengths of yarn between two core yarns and then twisting the yarns together. The edges of these pile standout at right angles to the yarn's core and creates the lined texture. The process gives chenille its soft texture and unique look. This fabric catches the light differently so that the texture looks different from each angle you look at it. The process is s...
